She's the terrific point guard for Heritage Christian that has three state championship rings to her name. Next year she will take her game to Butler in her home town of Indianapolis, but Claire Freeman still has some unfinished business for her senior year. A fourth state championship is the goal, and along with teammate Kelly Faris (Connecticut), the 2A No. 1 ranked Eagles will be looking to put their team into the annals of Indiana lore as only the second team in state history to win four consecutive state titles. After Notre Dame head coach Muffet McGraw mostly likely exhausted the local Walgreen's supply of Pepto Bismol this past week, South Bend Washington standout Skylar Diggins gave McGraw the remedy she needed tonight. When Xavier head coach Kevin McGuff snagged Indiana's top player in 2006, it was considered a major coup for the then new mid-major coach. North Central's Amber Harris became the building block for what has become a strong, Indiana-based team that includes some of the Hoosier state's best talent over the past few years. The 2008-09 season is the season the Musketeers have been waiting for, with all of the major pieces in place. The Great Lakes Valley Conference had a season for the ages in 2007-08. Six schools posted 20 win seasons and all six advanced to the NCAA Tournament, a Division 2 record. Additionally, the GLVC posted an unbeaten record against non-conference opponents during the national tournament, capped by Northern Kentucky's national championship.
